During his time as the Member for Hume Angus has been a wonderful advocate for the Upper Lachlan, with the shire receiving significant support for a number of projects and initiatives.
Through his lobbying and support, we have seen considerable improvements in mobile phone coverage through the Mobile Blackspot Program, funding for local infrastructure under the Stronger Country Communities Program and support for major projects, including but not limited to, the Abercrombie River Bridge replacement and the upgrade to Wombeyan Caves Road.
The Upper Lachlan has also seen substantial upgrades to our road network under the Road Black Spot Program, such as the realignment of the 'Devil's Elbow' hairpin bend at Grabben Gullen and the Kiamma Creek Bridge upgrade.
Council also recently received an increase in Roads to Recovery funding for the 2019-20 to 2023-24 period from $1,203,048 to $6,015,241, to improve local roads. Angus also recently announced funding to assist in the upgrades of the Crookwell River and Diamond Creek Bridges under the Bridges Renewal Program, improving safety and access.
On behalf of the council and the community I would like to offer Angus a heartfelt congratulations. Council looks forward to continuing to work with him to deliver outcomes for the shire in-line with our community's needs and expectations.
