A mobile service centre helping 150,000 people to access government payments services, and travelling more than 900,000 kilometres in its lifetime, is visiting Crookwell and Gunning this month.

The service which is run by the Department of Human Services offers residents easy access to Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services, social work support and more.
In a 20-tonne truck named the Golden Wattle staff will help people with claims, registrations and accessing online services. There is also a social worker offering short-term counselling and referrals.
The mobile services supports veterans and families who will find information about the Department of Veterans' Affairs programs and support services. It also assists to farmers to find out about rural payment entitlements, including the Farm Household Allowance.
There are two trucks, the other is the Desert Rose, both move into regions following natural disaster spending more than 300 days helping over 1400 people.
The service is for rural families, older Australians, students, job seekers, people with a disability, carers, farmers and self-employed people.
Staff can also help setup a myGov account. MyGov is a secure way to access government online services.
The service will be in Crookwell, on Tuesday, May 28 the Golden Wattle will be parked near the old visitor information centre on Spring Street in Crookwell from 9.30am until 4pm.
Then in Gunning, on Wednesday, May 29 the Golden Wattle will be parked opposite the post office on Yass Street from 9.30am until 4pm.
Those wishing to access the facility do not require bookings. There is disabled access and Wi-Fi.
