The comments came after Crookwell defeated Marulan in Crookwell, 3-1, in a gritty match which saw neither side truly able to gain the ascendancy.
However, early strikes in the first half gave the home side the edge, and after a scoreless second half, Jackson praised his team's fortitude.
"I think it was pretty good [overall]," he said.
"The second half got a bit rough towards the end, but Marulan were very strong in defence and are always a good team to play.
"I reckon we've got a really strong team, and the seniors are bringing the junior fellas up, and it's turned into a really good, cohesive unit."
Marulan's defence was indeed outstanding. Although Crookwell dominated possession throughout the second half, it was unable to convert any of its numerous chances into goals, largely due to the visitors' bloody-minded efforts in goal.
However, Jackson was also thrilled that Crookwell's midfield was more often than not able to stifle Marulan's efforts to shift the ball up the field.
"With the likes of Robbie Johnson and Duncan [Shepherd] in the mids, it makes it very good for the forwards," Jackson said.
"Especially with the five defenders [Marulan] had today, [the midfield] coming through makes it so strong. You can just go to the top of the box and know you're gonna find one of their feet."
The win over Marulan takes Crookwell to five wins and a draw for the season, and with 16 points, it holds a one-point lead over Stags F.C. in second place.
That lead may be in jeopardy this weekend, when Crookwell take on Stags F.C. in a top-of-the-table clash.
Stags have proven to be an offensively-inclined team, and currently lead the competition with 33 goals from their six games, ahead of Crookwell's 25.
Working in Crookwell's favour is the fact that the match will be another home fixture.
Crookwell will take on the Stags from 3.00pm on Saturday June 22 at Crookwell 1.
