In the closed session of the Upper Lachlan Shire Council meeting on June 20 the councillors discussed the potential sale of the former Saleyards Site (Lot 3 DP 1112816), Laggan Road in Crookwell.
The site is adjacent to Viewhaven Lodge.
Upper Lachlan Shire acting general manager Andrew Croke said the council deferred the decision.
The councillors will met with the director of environment and planning, Tina Dodson to determine if the expansion fits into the proposed strategic housing plan.
In open council, board member of CTAC, Peter Davies, and acting chairman Garry Kadwell said the council would go into the closed session to discuss the sale, and that CTAC would need the support of the council to move forward with their plans.
"There is a real opportunity to work collaboratively with the council here," Mr Davies said.
The board were unequivocal that any profits generated by the aged care home are "ploughed back into improving service delivery or equipment."
CTAC utilises refundable accommodation deposits which makes up around 86 per cent of its net assets. This money is fully refundable to the residents or beneficiaries or estate.
"We cannot use these funds for the building of partial or independent living developments," Mr Davies said.
Currently, both Sunset Lodge at Taralga and Viewhaven Lodge operate at 99 per cent capacity, chief executive Jo Boyce said.
