After succumbing to their first loss of the season nearly three weeks ago, 5-0 to the Stags FC, Crookwell followed that up with a 3-1 loss against Stags '97. Last weekend compounded their woes, as the team played Workers FC on Saturday and fell to a 5-1 defeat at Cookbundoon.
These three losses have seen the senior men slip to third on the ladder, after an undefeated beginning of the season had them sitting at first.
While Crookwell had some stability issues early in the season, there was generally enough team cohesiveness to overcome them. Of late, their defence has struggled to keep out the offence, which has led to the consistently one-sided scorelines.
After a bye this weekend, Crookwell will take on Stags FC once again on July 20, which will provide the side with an opportunity to avenge its round seven loss.
However, following Crookwell's fall, Stags FC have assumed their spot at the top of the ladder, and show no sign of relinquishing that position.
It has been seven weeks since the Stags' last loss, and in that time they have managed to dominate most opponents and racked up a goal differential of 43, which is 33 higher than Workers FC in second.
Crookwell will take on Stags FC from 3pm at Cookbundoon 1 next Saturday, July 20.
