The grants funded by the Upper Lachlan Shire Council will fund one Community Welcome Day per town or locality.
Events will welcome people recently relocated to the area, as well as giving anyone else living in the area a chance to connect.
The council's acting general manager, Andrew Croke said the grants will support and foster a happy, inclusive and connected community.
"A recent study by Queensland's Bond University rated the Upper Lachlan Shire as the tenth kindest local government area in Australia. We want to harness that inclusiveness and support opportunities for our new and long-term residents to come together to celebrate our community, share ideas and form connections," Mr Croke said.
"Positive relationships between residents create a harmonious and inclusive living environment and encourage a sense of community. They also act as a support network and provide comfort, particularly for the elderly, young families and new residents to our Shire."
Applications will close on Saturday, August 31.
