That's exactly what the Crookwell Dogs have right now after beating the Yass Rams 43-12 at Victoria Park in Yass on Saturday, July 20 to go one step closer to clinching a top two spot on the ladder.
Unsurprisingly, Dogs coach Bruce Nixon was very happy with the result.
"The most pleasing thing for us today was that we had to win and win well to get a bonus point to keep our spot on second place and we did that, so I'm really happy with that," Nixon said.
"The boys are enjoying it and playing at a level where they can trust themselves."

The away side may have been missing six players due to other commitments, but it may have been a blessing in disguise.
"It's good for our side that everyone in our squad has gotten a game of footy in the last couple of weeks," Nixon said.
Meanwhile, it has been a long season for the Rams who sit second last on the ladder, but coach Ian McFarlane said he could not fault the effort.
"That was a good effort against a side in the top two," McFarlane said.
"We have had a massive injury toll this year, but I can't credit them enough for rolling their sleeves up and having a dead set crack."
While the result didn't go the home side's way, there were aspects of the match where McFarlane was happy with.
"Our scrum was much more dominant this week and our defence was good in patches, but we got a little lazy towards the end," he said.
While this season has been one to forget, McFarlane wants to end the season on a high.
"I hope we can finish on a positive note and carry on for next year.
"Our season has been disappointing, but I can't change it.
"The players need to realise what they can do and if they apply themselves, they can be anything."
The Dogs have a tough game against the Taralga Tigers at home this weekend before ending the season against the winless Broulee Dolphins.
This Saturday's clash will give Crookwell one final opportunity to claim the Upper Lachlan Shire Cup. The Dogs most recently played Taralga in round 14, where they lost by two points in heartbreaking fashion due to a last-gasp try.
This was the closest that any team has come to dethroning the Tigers in 2019, and a home game will provide Crookwell the ideal opportunity to finally end the reigning premiers' winning streak.
The match will start from 3.30pm at Crookwell Memorial Oval on Saturday, July 27.
The Rams, on the other hand, have the Dolphins next week before playing the Bungendore Mudchooks in their final game of 2019.
In other results, the Tigers beat the Mudchooks 20-0, the Batesman Bay Boar beat the Dolphins 47-0 and the Jindabyne Bushpigs beat the Braidwood Redbacks 20-14.
