Coming off a heart-stopping loss to the Bungendore Tigers on July 13, the Green Devils appeared eager to make a statement as the competition nears finals.
Though the Raiders are placed only one spot below Crookwell on the ladder, at seventh, few expected them to pose a real threat as they have only recorded three wins for the season.
However, the Green Devils' inconsistent form has been a hallmark of this season, and lower-ranked teams have often fancied their chances should Crookwell have an off day.
But it was not this day.
Ben Cummins led from the front on the day, with four tries to his name. He was ably supported by Dion Aramoana (two tries, seven goals), and three more try-scorers.
The win takes Crookwell's tally to six wins and seven losses for the season.
This sees the team in a precarious position with four rounds of competition to go.
Should Harden and Boorowa perform poorly over the next month, and Crookwell win most of their matches, the Green Devils may have a chance of scraping through for finals.
But the first challenge will be getting past the Rovers themselves. Crookwell play Boorowa from 2pm this Sunday, July 28.
