I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened it today after work. I think I'll get it framed to have on display at my upcoming CD launches. Note that Scott Morrison mentions Crookwell too!
My first big Melbourne launch is soon now - the Saturday after next. I don't expect you to come all that way again, especially as you organised my first launch and you already have the album. But if you do decide to come down, you can of course stay at my place for the weekend - have your own room too.
We had a big rehearsal yesterday - the only one - and the music is sounding really good, I think. So many different instruments - violin, cello, didgeridoo, ukulele, piano, even musical saw & more!
Anyway, take care and do stay in touch.

At home with nature
I think we are all feeling the loss of so many magnificent trees, even when there may appear to some to be valid reasons.
TIMELESS NATURAL BUSH
Bush, wild bush. Vast beautiful bush.
Always a balm to me.
Majestic gums, tall and straight,
Reaching skyward - to infinity.
Thoughts and emotions lifted on high
As if by an unseen strand.
By trunks and boughs, soft, green leaves,
Spreading shade on sheltered land.
All nature gives thanks as sun, wind and rain,
Beat out their rhythms in time.
Protected beneath dense canopies,
Birds rejoice in chorus sublime.
Ancient calls echo deep within,
Warming my heart and soul.
Timeless nature, wafting on the breeze.
Enfolding. Content and whole.

Unbelievable decision
The Canberra Hospital (TCH) is planning to close its accommodation forever.
One can only imagine the importance the accommodation is to people in all sorts of situations. Currently there are about 160 beds providing for short-term accommodation for staff, patients and their families. These beds are often booked out and the thought of the accommodation being closed in November is unbelievable.
It is with great regret that there are plans to pull down (number) five building and no plans to provide accommodation for the staff and public. It is important for people to write to the ACT, NSW and Federal Health Ministers.
No emergency accommodation will affect a lot of people. Canberra Hospital has a very large catchment around Canberra that extends well into NSW. It services people who often live up to five hours away.
There is no other affordable accommodation within the Canberra Health system.
Please send a letter to all the Health Ministers and put pressure on the people that made this decision.

Waste not, want not
Why can't we follow the Goulburn council and encourage adding food waste to the garden waste bin? It would enhance and speed up composting, and stop creating methane gas in landfill.
