There will be guest speakers to discuss the signs of depression and ways to manage depression.
The charity event is the brainchild of Sallie Zilko, the brains behind the Girls' Big Night Out charity event for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
""Our community is like many others and this is not something that will fix its self or just go away," Ms Zilko said.
"People should be aware of how it can creep in.
"Some people describe it as being in a really dark place that's difficult to come back from and others describe it as a numb feeling," she said.
There are plenty of effective ways and health professionals to help people to manage depression.
"It's important to get help, there are lots of ways to treat it."
The family-friendly event will be held at the Crookwell Golf Club on September 14 from 6.30pm. The cost is $30 or $15 for school children and includes a two-course dinner, guest speakers and door prizes.
There will also be information on other common health issues including prostate cancer and bullying.
Beyond Blue was established in 2000 and works in all states and territories to inform and connect people to access mental health support and improve outcomes for people, families and communities.
