A report from the Australian Bureau of Statistics found the number of females employed in the region increased by 12.07 per cent in 2016-17 from 2015-16.

The Jobs in Australia report showed that this figure had increased from 2392 employed women in 2011-12 to 2702 in 2016-17.
This was a bigger increase when compared with jobs held by women across NSW (11.3pc).
The report showed that girls from the age of 14 were working, up to women aged 85 years and over.
Many of these women were employed in community and personal service (292), clerical and administration (279), and professionals (271).
Eileen Toole said these figures would be "quite true".
Ms Toole's career as office administrator at Gay's Garage in Crookwell extends to almost 64 years. She also continues to work on a farm at Bannister.
"I first started off when I was 15," she said. "I was reared in the country. I worked I was employed by Herb Bevans Garage before Billy started up the business in 1955."
She said people across regional Australia were employed longer for a number of reasons. "It's a different atmosphere in the country," she said.
"People are more active out in the country for longer. It keeps you active, the brain active, and in contact with people.
"That's why my health stays with me."
Meantime, men were mainly employed as technicians and trade workers (364), labourers (266) and machinery operators and drivers (172).
Males were also working up to over age 85 years, but starting work later between the ages of 15-17.
Overall, jobs and employment in the Upper Lachlan Shire increased in the six years.
The report found the number of jobs in the region increased by 11.15 per cent to 5793 in 2016-17.
It showed the number of people employed in the Upper Lachlan Shire (population of 7961) had also risen by 11.49pc to 3687 in 2016-17.
The figures also showed that about one in every five people held multiple jobs during that time.
About 20pc of workers employed in 2016-17 held more than one job at the same time. Of these multiple job holders, more than half (51.9pc) were female.
