There were fewer participants at last week's annual general meeting than previous year's. Club secretary Ellie McGeechan explained if the numbers aren't there, a competition can't run.
Three long-time members of the club will be stepping down from their roles this year - Ellie McGeechan as club secretary and Ben Cummins as vice president and Jamie Mcintosh as president.
The women's competition was cancelled last year because of the lack of participants the club was unable to pull together a single full team.
The men's competition ran as normal.
The club said that "all positions need to be filled before the season can kick off."
They also encouraged all interested players, referees, and coaches to attend and have their say on the upcoming season.
The club encourages all players to come to the next meeting to discuss how they think the competition can be successful, and a strategy for upcoming seasons.
Meanwhile, the junior competition also needs the time and support of volunteers and parents.
"Most of the hard work for the juniors is already done through the seniors, [and] the main duties for the junior competition include:
- Helping to gather nominations and payment for players.
- Helping to organise the players into teams (only the first few weeks).
- Setting up fields on Wednesday afternoons.
- Refereeing/Coaching.
- Keeping track of the scorecards and tallying points each week.
- Organising end of year presentations and finals."
The juniors competition includes children from the ages of five to 16.
Interested teams are encouraged to contact Jamie McIntosh on 0431 570 480 to register.
The AGM will take place on Wednesday, September 18 from 6.30pm at the Crookwell RSL.
For any questions about the AGM or expressions of interest, contact Jamie McIntosh or Ellie McGeechan on 0427 896 056.
Crookwell Touch encourages participants to start creating their teams and more information will become available after the AGM.
