The Crookwell She Devils started the day off against the Harden Hawkettes, a team they had played plenty of times this season, but went down 34-6.
The team in green were never really in the contest and She Devils co-coach Paddy Lenane said the opposition were too good.
"The game plan was pretty much the same as usual," Lenane said.
"We just try to kick the ball down to the end of their field and sort of lock them up a bit.
"They were just too good all day and too good all season.
"They're a great team to their credit.
"They don't change much.
"They just do the simple things right and don't drop balls and that wins football games."
Although the result did not go their way, there were plenty of positives to take away from what was a successful season.
"The highlight for our girls is getting to the grand final," Lenane said.
"The last few years, we came third and came short, but this year they improved.
"They hung in there all season and got to the grand final which is really pleasing.
"My main message to them after the game was to acknowledge what they had achieved this year.
"I told them to stay positive and to take momentum into next year."
Following that game, the Green Devils hit the field in an attempt to give Crookwell some silverware, but fell short to the North Canberra Bears, losing 24-16.
It was close at half time, with the reigning champions trailing by four points, but the Bears ran away with the game in the second.
