Top price for the Poll Dorsets was $2600 paid by Nathan Selmes, manager at Royal Oak, Goulburn. He selected a 114-kilogram sire for his first-cross ewe breeders.
Mr Selmes has been purchasing Poll Dorset rams from Andbo, 'Bellevue' Fullerton Road, for the past three years to join to first-cross ewes. He said the rams continue to achieve quality prime lamb production.
He purchased another four and paid $1860 average for the five rams.
It is the third year the sale has been held at the Crookwell Showground.
Principal Mr Seaman was happy with the sale result.
The sale was settled by Duncombe and Co, Crookwell with auctioneers Jock Duncombe and Alan Duncombe.
