This year's theme was stars and teacher Margaret 'Margi' Hayes said the children were shining brightly.
Twenty-three students auditioned for a place in the choir at the start of the year. They were among the 5500 young performers to sing, dance and entertain from over 370 schools from metropolitan, rural and remote regions of NSW.
"It was by far the biggest group we've ever taken, last year we took 13. The kids had an absolute ball," Ms Hayes said.
Students were part of a 2800 strong choir to perform in four shows over two days. The variety act featured fire juggling, a circus skills segment, as well as celebrating Indigenous culture and more.
It was compered by John Foreman who has been a part of the variety show for over 30 years.
"It gave our students an opportunity to be part of an amazing extravaganza... an experience that they will never forget."
Students spent five days in Sydney, rehearsing, performing and touring. For many, it was the first-ride on a ferry or a train or visit to the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
"The benefit these students received from being part of Schools Spectacular cannot be measured."
