The visibility from Crookwell Road to the Woodhouselee Road is abysmal, the angle of approach is shocking and not only that the state of the road surface is absolutely pathetic.
This road has had no upgrade and no attention to it for the last 10 to 12 years.
The roads either side of Laggan have had some serious attention, but have failed to improve the actual intersection itself.
Where do the council's priorities sit, whoever is in charge of the maintenance for the roads around the district should wake up and listen to their rate payers.
- Jason Davis, Crookwell
What roads would you like the council to upgrade?
Main Road 256, also known as the Taralga/Oberon Road. The culvert crossing at the Curraweela Creek is very dangerous. It is a one lane crossing on a major road. When we have heavy rain, the culvert floods requiring the road to be blocked. We have lost many a vehicle at the crossing as the flood waters float them off the road.
The culvert requires widening and an increase in height.
As this culvert crossing is the only part of the road from the townships of Oberon all the way to Goulburn, many vehicles do not give way to the vehicle already on the culvert, there have been accidents and there are many near accidents.
This culvert requires an urgent upgrade.
- Frank Startari, Curraweela via Taralga
Learner drivers unsafe at Laggan intersection
As a learner driver coming from Taralga towards the Laggan intersection I feel quite uneasy driving into Laggan towards Crookwell, and the same going the other way.
This intersection makes no sense whatsoever.
I feel that the road from Crookwell should be joined to the road towards Taralga to make one road as it is the most used. The roads from Woodhouselee and Peelwood should be the turn off roads that should have to wait for traffic travelling between Crookwell and Taralga.
I feel there is going to be a serious accident here one day.
- Daniel Gordon, Laggan
