At about 8.30am, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command detected a Kia Cerato hatchback travelling southbound on the Hume Highway at Goulburn at 190 kilometres per hour in a 110km/h zone.

Police attempted to pull the vehicle over near the South Goulburn exit but the driver allegedly failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.

At the intersection with the Federal Highway, police successfully deployed tyre-deflation devices.

The pursuit continued along the Federal Highway until the vehicle was unable to be driven any further and came to a stop in a truck parking bay just south of Collector.

The driver, a 33-year-old Natalie Kabalan from Victoria, and her female passenger, were subsequently removed from the vehicle and arrested.

Checks revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen from Victoria on Saturday, January 11 and the woman's Victorian licence was currently suspended.

A search of the car also located an amount of cannabis.

The two women were taken to Goulburn Police Station where the driver was charged with exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, police pursuit - driving at a dangerous speed, taking and driving conveyance without consent of owner, driving a motor vehicle while licence suspended, and possessing a prohibited drug.

She appeared in the dock of Goulburn Local Court on Monday, January 13.

She did not apply for bail and she was bail refused.

She will reappear in Goulburn Local Court on January 29.

The passenger has been released pending further inquiries.
