With four matches under their belts, the Hockeyroos currently have two wins, a loss, and a draw to show for their efforts.
Things got underway for Australia with a stunning penalty shootout victory over Belgium in Sydney on January 25. But the Belgians turned the tables the next day to score a shootout victory of their own.
After the Belgians departed, Great Britain arrived in Sydney last weekend for a pair of hotly-anticipated fixtures.
Australia won the first, courtesy of a last-gasp tomahawk goal from Grace Stewart which put the hosts up 2-1.
The next match, on Sunday, was cancelled with Great Britain up 1-0 after poor weather intervened.
Though it was a frustrating end to what was shaping up to be a thrilling clash, the Australians were awarded the full six points from the two matches due to an FIH regulation which states that if one of the two matches played between two teams is cancelled prior to the commencement of the fourth quarter, the winner of the other match will receive double points.
Chalker expressed her disappointment about the way the match ended, but kept her eyes on the bigger picture.
"The rules have been put in place so at the end of the day it is out of our control, we can't do anything about it," Chalker said after the decision to call the game off.
"We were hoping to get out there because we still had something to prove. Being 1-0 down and just missing the opportunity to get a penalty stroke awarded, everyone was quite fired up and wanting to get out there.
"We love playing against Great Britain, they are a really tough opposition so we were looking forward to finishing the game and they have come a long way to play so I'm sure it is frustrating for both sides.
"Unfortunately mother nature intervenes sometimes and we can't control the weather but I guess if there is a positive, hopefully there is some good rain falling in places that need it, especially those that have been affected by the bushfires and drought."
The Hockeyroos now have some time to put their feet up after a hectic week, before their next fixtures against Argentina in Perth on March 6 and 7.
The Argentines, in third, currently sit just 50 points shy of Australia in the FIH women's outdoor rankings, with next month's fixtures expected to be similarly close.
