All community soccer competitions have been postponed until April 14 by Football Australia and Football NSW in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and those delays will likely extend as it continues.
But the soccer club put up a post on its Facebook page on March 17 stating its desire for members to continue signing up for the 2020 season in order to help finalise numbers.
"This will show the club our numbers, so teams can be nominated and the potential teams could be sorted for an eventual kickoff," the club said.
"Also shirt orders need to be placed and paid for by 21 March to arrive on time for kick off."
The club is hopeful the delay will end before the season is scheduled to begin in early May, particularly as its 50th anniversary celebrations are scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of that month.
But Southern Tablelands Football Association president, Craig Norris, revealed the association has plans to begin the season as late as July if necessary.
"We've got contingency plans for a post-June long weekend kick-off and even a post-July school holidays kick-off," he said.
"That's one good thing about Cookbundoon for us is there's no summer sports other than summer soccer ... so we can roll into November with the soccer season if we need to."
The soccer club had planned an elaborate weekend involving a number of former players set to return, a formal dinner, and an address from the Brisbane Roar's Scott Neville, along with some exhibition games.
Under the current circumstances, there is no way these celebrations could go ahead.
However, if the coronavirus situation resolves in time for the anniversary to take place, the club has requested all non-player order of merchandise be completed by April 4 so it can be distributed at the formal dinner.
Soccer NSW and the STFA have pledged to keep players and administrators informed of any developments regarding the current pandemic.
