eSmart Libraries is a partnership between the Alannah and Madeline Foundation and Telstra Foundation, and is one of the most significant community cyber safety initiatives ever undertaken in Australia.
The program is designed to equip library users and staff, with the skills and resources they need to be able to use internet-connected technology in a smart, safe and responsible way.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council's manager, Library Services, Michaela Olde, said that by completing the accreditation to become an eSmart library Upper Lachlan Libraries have integrated cyber-safety into its library policies, agreements, staff development, culture, training and day to day operations.
"Our library staff and customers will be better equipped with the skills and information they need for smart, safe and responsible use of technology whether it be at home, school, workplace, or in the library," she said.
