Celebrate a remarkable woman or girl in sport, and nominate them for the annual Her Sport Her Way Awards in NSW.
Categories for the awards include the Young Achiever, Local Champion, Outstanding Organisation, Trailblazers and Champion.
"These awards are a great opportunity to showcase our trailblazers in sport and inspire the younger generation to get involved at all levels," Minister for Sport Natalie Ward said.
"I encourage NSW sporting organisations and individuals to nominate an outstanding coach, official, administrator or leader who has made a significant contribution to sport becoming more inclusive and appealing for women and girls."
The awards are part of the state government's Her Sport Her Way Three Year Action Plan which prioritises equality in sport in all areas from making organisations inclusive, celebrating female sporting leaders and encouraging girls to stay in sport.
Funding for female friendly sport facilities across the state is also prioritised in the initiative.
Minister for Women Bronnie Taylor said it was important for young girls to see female representation in all facets of sport
"Whether it's on the field or in the boardroom, having female role models in sport empowers young girls to see themselves in those same roles," she said.
Nominations for the awards open today (November 23) and close on January 14, 2022, where the winners will be celebrated at a ceremony next year.
