Over 30 competitors will compete in the two day event where teams come from all over the state vying for championship points.
The Crookwell Hotel (Top Pub) has yet again come on board as major sponsor of the event, along with many of the local business houses who have donated $20. Their business names go in a hat and are drawn out to be paired up with the race cars. If the race car that they have sponsored ends up winning, then they too receive a trophy after the event.
Locals Dale and Malcolm Chadburn, sons of Don and Gabi Chadburn from Binda, will be one of the many high speed Pro-Buggy class competitors at the Gravel Pit Challenge..
Glenn Hoffmann, last year’s Crookwell Off Road Club champion from Mittagong is entered to gain points again, intent on repeating last year’s final result.
Derek Rose from Warialda will be out on the track again this year. Derek, or ‘Wheelie’ as he is affectionately known was the 2013 NSW Off Road Driver’s Champion – the ultimate prize up for grabs in the state.
With so many champions coming to Crookwell, there will be plenty of high speed thrills and spills throughout the weekend. Come along and see what Off Road is all about!
Racing kicks off at 9.am on both days, follow the signs approximately 5kms out the Grabben Gullen Road. Admission for spectators is free, along with canteen facilities for breakfast and lunch both days and full amenities available.
