Under 12's
ON Friday night the Crookwell Pups Under 12's came up against a fired up Braidwood team.
The Pups showed some good form at times and their defence is still improving, which is great. Although the Pups were left scoreless it wasn't a true reflection of the game. The front row of Richie Branson, Luke McCue and Ethan Slattery were strong in attack and defence. Wyl Hearn and Sam Abbey, played their hearts out. James Clements, Rylee Croke, Alex Lowe and Jacob Rudd continue to impress every week. Jack Page and Sam Spackman played very well, hitting the ball up strongly all game. A big mention goes out to Will Harborne, Connor Minehan, Lachie Evans and Harry Hayes who all volunteered to play for Braidwood for a half each, and they played equally well for both teams, showing great sportsmanship, and they have been awarded a Braidwood Redbacks award for helping out.
Team awards this week went to Jack Page and Ethan Slattery for a great all round effort.
Under 10’s
The Under 10’s Pups notched up their first win in two weeks last Friday night against the Goulburn Waratahs 42 - 24. The opposing team helped the Pups out with two players, once again, which was much appreciated.
Tackling has been improving every week and this game was no exception. We are also seeing improvement with cleaning out at the ruck and maintaining possession of the ball. Tries went to Sam Minehan (3), Paddy Lowe (3) and Josh Evans (2).
Charlie Hayes made one conversion.
Awards this week went to Matt Seaman for an excellent tackling effort and Paddy Lowe who had a great game after returning from nine weeks with a broken collarbone.
