Over 200 people returned to the small rural school to join in the 130th Celebrations.
The visitors were entertained by speeches from past students and principals, and the six children of Bigga Public School who put on a wonderful performance for everyone to enjoy.
Caroline Merchant from the Department of Education completed the official opening of the Covered Outdoor Learning Area, and the renovated Sand Pit Area which was made possible by the grant from FRRR (The Foundation of Regional and Rural Renewal).
After the formalities of the day the Bigga PS P&C provided a delicious lunch and fun for the kids, so the parents could catch up with old friends and teachers.
First Pick for Parties blew up the jumping castle, broke out the face paint and attached the string to the balloons and the children were busy for hours.
The children AND the adults could have their nails painted at the Nail Bar run by Bigga PS students, Layne Carson and Lucy Marshall, or decorate a cake, and even make a bracelet. Many of the people who attended the celebrations couldn't believe how different the school looked, and seemed be, when they were little. The rest of the afternoon was spent in the shade of the trees or the COLA, listening to the beautiful voice of Alice Plumb and catching up on all those memories. Bigga Public School P&C would like to thank everyone who helped make the day a success including those who travelled a long way to be part of the 130th celebrations.
