Three teams from Goulburn, one from Bowral and five teams from Crookwell participated in this event.
Early on in the day it was thought there would be no bowls. However the rain ceased and a very pleasant day of bowls were contested.
The winners were a Crookwell team of Sandy G McDonald, J Cramp, D McDonell and S McDonell. Runners up were Goulburn Railway, B Edwards, R Hawkins, M Lawless and J Cooke.
This was followed by delicious sandwiches and cream sponges provided by the social committee.
There were 13 raffles donated by the Crookwell bowlers which were won by various ladies.
Happy birthday to D Kennedy (6th) and J Campbell (7th).
Spider winners Karen Potts nearest President Boothman’s bowl, Edith Rice nearest yellow ball and Edith Rice nearest the spider.
Joan thanked all the ladies who contributed to the great day, especially those who cooked as it always sells well.
Tuesday November 10
Major pairs: J Stephenson, S McDonell def R Corby, J Haynes. S Hammond, S Reedy had a win over J Cramp, J Cummins.
Social bowls: R Clements, W Hewitt def K George, B Lang. J Croker, D Branson def D Ritchie, J Boothman.
Consistency singles: J Howard def C Picker and a very close game, playing the maximum number of ends.
Eighteen played bowls in very hot conditions.
