Many schools get involved and plan nature based events and activities.
Crookwell will host it’s own children’s tree planting event at Kiamma Creek in October, with some local kids having the opportunity to plant trees for the future.
Towards the end of October, Roslyn Landcare Group and Local Land Services will get more youngsters involved with their annual schools tree planting and environmental awareness day at Broken Bridge Travelling Stock Reserve.
As well as the planting of some 300 native trees and shrubs, the schoolchildren will learn about some of the native plants and animals of our region and some of the threats to their survival.
Perhaps you would like your school to get involved? For more information, ideas about grants, forming groups and on ground activities you can visit the Junior Landcare website or if you would like your school to be involved in next springs Landcare activities contact Ruth Aveyard at coordinator@upperlachlanlandcare.org.au
