Community groups receive funding
Four community groups in the Upper Lachlan Shire will benefit from a combined $32,779.45 funding boost under the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Fund in 2016/17.

The grants, assessed by the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Fund Section 355 Committee, will help to fund the following projects:
- Lions Club of Gunning Inc Purchase of a printer and consumables $18,716.50
- Dalton Public Hall Trust Board Electrical refurbishment of Dalton Public Hall $8,440.75
- Gunning PA&I Society Establishment of a regional food and wine hub at the Gunning Show $4,222.20
- Gunning and District Historical Society Enhancement of the Seat of Reflection in Barbour Park, Gunning $1,400.00
Total $32,779.45
Upper Lachlan Shire Mayor and Committee Member Brian McCormack OAM said the Fund provides grants to projects or initiatives that benefit the community within 20km of the wind farm.
“As part of the Cullerin Range Wind Farm Community Enhancement Program, Cullerin Range Wind Farm sets aside a $15,000 contribution each year, which is also subject to CPI,” Cr McCormack said.
“It is wonderful to see our local community groups benefit from this funding.”
Gunning wind farm sponsorship
ACCIONA Gunning Wind Farm Site Manager Craig Simon has called for applications from local organisations as part of its Community Sponsorship Program.
Mr Simon said “ACCIONA is once again excited to support fantastic local community groups and sporting organisations around Gunning, Goulburn and Crookwell.
“We are proud to have been part of successful local events like the Goulburn Great Divide and the Gunning Show.
“It was particularly great to last year help out Gunning Public School last year for new kitchen facilities. We would welcome applications from any community or sporting group that needs assistance to get their event up and running, or for new equipment for their team.
ACCIONA has now invested more than $60,000 as part of this program and we are committed to continuing it into the future,” Mr Simon said.
Applications are scheduled to close 10 March 2017.
