Mary Ann Brownlow was hanged in Goulburn Gaol in 1855

Mary Ann Brownlow, a 23-year-old mother of two, was hanged in Goulburn Gaol in October 1855 for taking her husband’s life with a carving knife after learning he intended to bring his "fancy woman" to live in their house.

Journalist David Cole and actor Erin Williams have respectively researched and performed Brownlow’s life story. With museums officer Claire Baddeley, will present a talk on Saturday, February 18 at 2pm at St Clair Villa.
