Matthew and Karen Benjamin from the Crookwell Squash Centre hosted the annual 'Crookwell Squash Open 2017’.
Players had a wonderful weekend with lots of laughter but plenty of sore bodies!
The tournament received entrants from Dapto, Bathurst, Canberra, Sydney and the Central Coast as well as Crookwell and district.
The tournament catered for all grades and culminated in an exciting Men’s Open in which Corey Bedingfield (Cooma) defeated Nathan Fuller (Wyong).
All players displayed the excellent skills and high fitness levels necessary to sustain long squash sessions with a best and fairest attitude.
The Benjamins thanked sponsors, mostly from local businesses, whose support contributed greatly to the success of this event as well as the local B&Bs, hotels, motels and restaurants for their hospitality and the friendly locals who made the players welcome.
The town has benefitted greatly by the income of about $10,000 over the Crookwell Squash Open 2017 weekend, as well.
Thanks also to local players and other helpers beforehand, to set up the marquee, during and after the event.
