Over 20 youth converged on Gunning Skate Park recently for a skateboarding demonstration and workshop hosted by Totem Skateboarding.

Timed to coincide with Youth Week, the event was an opportunity for participants to learn new skills and brush up on skate park etiquette and safety.

Youth Week is an opportunity for young people to have fun and celebrate their contributions to the community.

“The Upper Lachlan is lucky to have so many young people who are actively involved in making positive contributions to the Shire,” Upper Lachlan Shire Mayor Brian McCormack said.

“It is fitting that the recent Youth Week event was held at Gunning Skate Park.

“The Skate Park started as an idea by a group of local teenagers and became a reality because of their vision and the support and fundraising of the Gunning community.
