iTradie will help Goulburn and district tradespeople to build a website for their business (over two morning workshops), and offer one on one business mentoring and follow up.
The workshop is free to participants, and RDA Southern Region will sponsor a basic web hosting plan for workshop participants for six months to the value of $50. Participants will need to purchase their domain name prior to the workshop (cost approx. $24 for two years).
It is being hosted by RDA Southern Inland in partnership with the Southern Region Business Enterprise Centre (BEC), and supported by the Goulburn Community College and WorkSpace 2580.
“A lot of these people don’t have an online presence so this course that we’re putting on will help with the online presence, get them using Facebook, and help with SEO search optimisation and Google so they can be found,” organiser Shaun Carnes said.
“I think it’s important for all businesses. Everything’s going online today.”
Attendees will be able to book a follow up session for website growth and developing a social media footprint.
RDA says there are good reasons for small businesses who don’t have a website to market themselves on the internet with research showing more people are searching for products online.
The workshop will be held at WorkSpace 2580 – 56 Clinton Street, Goulburn NSW on May 18 (9am-1pm) and May 25 (9am-1pm).
RDA Southern Inland is part of a national network of 55 Regional Development Australia committees across Australia. These committees are made up of local leaders who work with all levels of government, business and community groups to support the development of regional Australia.
One hour business mentoring through Southern Region BEC will be held on May 25 (appointments available between 1.30pm-5pm) and May 26 (appointments available between 9am-5pm).
Participants can book by visiting the RDA Southern Region website and filling out a registration form: www.rdasi.org.au or by phoning 4822 6397.
Participants are urged to book early to secure their place.
