The Southern NSW Local Health District (SNSWLHD) will hold its first annual public meeting in Goulburn on September 1 to discuss past and upcoming achievements.
This meeting comes close to one month after the sudden departure of former CEO Janet Compton and Health District Board chair Jenny Symons.
Speakers will include the new Southern NSW Local Health District Board Chair Dr Allan Hawke, Acting Chief Executive Ms Julie Mooney and a representative from NSW Health Infrastructure.
The Strategic Plan for 2017/18 year, and vision, will also be discussed.
A spokesperson for the SNSWLHD said the aim of the meeting was to provide an update to the Health District’s stakeholders on its current status and future direction through presentations and questions.
“The redevelopment of the Goulburn Base Hospital is one of the Health District’s major projects and a topic of discussion,” the spokesperson said.
“The Health District will address any questions raised, and be supported by a representative from NSW Health Infrastructure, the overall Project Managers of the redevelopment.”
She said no further comment would be made about Ms Compton’s departure as she is no longer employed by the Health District.
“Challenges experienced by SNSWLHD have been recognised, and action has been taken to ‘provide a clean slate’ and ‘move in a new direction’, as Health Minister Brad Hazzard stated,” she said.
“We continue to provide an exemplary standard of patient care and ensure the patient journey is a positive one.”
The last annual public meeting was held five years ago in Goulburn.
Residents are encouraged to email any questions about the meeting to Shannan Craig (shannan.craig@health.nsw.gov.au).
The meeting will be held at the Goulburn Soldiers Club on September 1 at 3pm. Tickets for the free event can be booked on eventbrite.
