The event was an initiative of Biala Wind Farm (BJCE Australia) and Crookwell Neighbourhood Centre, and gave residents a chance to have a face-to-face chat about renewable energy and the proposed wind farm.
BJCE Australia handed out brochures about the project, and offered a colouring-in competition with gift vouchers up for grabs for children.
“Events like this are important for us because we want to ensure people have the facts about Biala Wind Farm and renewable energy,” said BJCE Australia deputy general manager Derek Powell.
Suzie Panne, who manages the Crookwell Neighbourhood Centre, said the barbecue fundraiser was “a welcomed opportunity”.
“We are always looking for ways to raise funds to put into programs that help our community,” she said. “We have already received funding from BJCE Australia for the community garden project.”
