Lucy Hammond and Victor Coble were married on Saturday November 9, 2013 on the Hammond family property “Glen Oak”, Bigga.
One hundred and twenty guests enjoyed not only the magnificent ceremony, mostly written by her mother, Kate, but also the spectacular view from the top of the hill overlooking Wyangla Dam.
Lucy lost her Grandfather Kevin in March of this year and a special part of the day was dedicated to him. The bride, her father and sisters stopped and spent a few minutes at his graveside enroute’ to the ceremony. The guests shared a very poignant moment as her father Robert and her brother Hamish took lead of the bridal procession on their horses with Kevin’s old white horse Sam between them. Eighty balloons we released in his honor, each one marking every year that he spent on his beloved “Glen Oak”.
Lucy’s stunning gown was handmade by the very talented Karen of Sposabella Bridal, Wollongong. It boasted 16 metres of lace and thirteen metres of ivory silk. It was embellished with thousands of tiny crystals.
Bridget O’Kane, her maid of honor, attended Lucy on the day. Her bridesmaids were Charlotte Hammond-Smith, Alexandra Hammond, Jess Hammond and Hannah Hammond.
Best man for Victor was Steven Thomas and groomsmen were Brent Smith, Brett Davis, Craig Writer and Hamish Hammond.
Thank you to our local celebrant Jan Fenton and Photographer Chontelle Perrin (Young).
Bakker - Foley
Belinda Bakker from Anna Bay and Ben Foley from Cullerin had their wedding on their cattle and sheep farm “Willowbank” at Lost River on November 16, 2013.
The theme of their weeding was country and western and guests were encouraged to dress to the idea.
The ceremony was held beside the “Wheeo Creek” with hay bale seats and the wedding party rode in on horseback to music.
The ceremony was conducted by Charles Weyman of Goulburn and the couple was blessed by the Catholic Police Chaplin, Father Barry Dwyer.
Belinda and Ben’s attendants were their four year old son, Bryce riding his miniature pony ‘Dusty’. Ben’s two daughters, Nell Foley riding ‘Banner’ and Tess Foley riding ‘Barney’.
Ben was riding ‘Extreme Perfection’ his quarter horse also known as Max and Belinda rode ‘American Sweetheart’ her quarter horse also known as Susie.
Ben’s saddle was originally owned by Roy Rogers and was Roy’s stunt saddle used in his movies.
This saddle was loaned to the couple by Gary Young of Bungonia from the ‘Glass House Mountain Silver Mountain Saddlebred Horse Stud’.
Belinda’s dress was a 1900’s style split riding skirt with blouse, vest and train in gold and white.
This outfit was designed and made by Mona McIntosh from Taralga and Allison Picker from Crookwell.
This split riding skirt is culottes for riding astride with the buttons doing up to turn back into a skirt.
They were commonly used by ladies to ride in the 1900’s.
This dress was an original that was found to be a challenge for the two very accomplished dressmakers.
Belinda’s hair and makeup was done by Kylie Ward of Crookwell.
The cake was designed and made by Rita Beatie also from Crookwell.
The cake fitted the country theme and depicted hay bales made from chocolate and coffee mud cakes.
The reception was held in a converted 100+ year old shearing shed for over 100 guests and was catered for by CWA Southern Tablelands Group.
46 CWA ladies from the region turned up on the day and prepare the food. It was magnificent.
They provided assorted entrées and desserts and cooked vegetables to go with the spit roasts of lamb and beef cooked by John Brennan from Crooked Corner Tennis.
The decorations for the reception were designed by Belinda and a couple of her guests.
Professional Photography captured by Kylie Chudleigh of Crookwell.
Kylie took photos of the ceremony and after ceremony shots at the “Old Wheeo Homestead” which is a Cob & Co property built in the 1830’s with original convict built rock wall stables.
At the reception they were entertained by a live band called ‘The Jukes’ from Canberra.
The band was excellent and the guests danced to their music until late.
The guests donated a total of $855 to the CWA (that was on top of their catering fee).
McIntosh - Ryan
On November 2, local celebrant Jan Fenton had the pleasure of joining in marriage Zane Ryan and Emma McIntosh.
Fifty guests from Grenfell, Tamworth, Dubbo, Aramac, Lake Grace and locally joined the couple in the beautiful setting of the Funny Hill gardens.
Emma is the daughter of Barry and Kim McIntosh of Crooked Corner and Zane the son of Colin and Sharon Theobold of Rockly.
Emma and Zane share a passion for racing pigeons and as part of their ceremony they released two white homing pigeons.
Pigeons mate for life and white is the colour of eternity.
They are the perfect symbols of fidelity and eternal love.
A huge thank you to Kris Cummins, singer and song writer who sang for the ceremony and to Camilla Duffy from Binalong who took the magnificent photos on the day.
Moorby - Lawler
Tania Moorby and Michael Lawler were married on Saturday November 16 at Tania’s parent’s farm ‘Cattle Camp’, Wheeo.
They chose to have a country theme for their wedding with the bridal party all wearing cowboy boots and looking absolutely fabulous.
Tania is the daughter of Wayne and Denise Moorby of Wheeo and Michael the son of Karen Lawler from Sydney.
About fifty guests from Queanbeyan, Sydney, Goulburn and Young were witness to this very special event and joined the newly married couple for their reception at The Black Sheep Irish Pub in Goulburn.
Tania’s attendants were ‘Maid of Honour’ Sheryce Swift and ‘Bridesmaid’ Ellen Robinson.
Best man was Ben Small and groomsman Justin Farrugia with Jackson Lawler very capably acting as ring bearer on the day.
Thank you to local celebrant Jan Fenton who officiated on the day and to Stuart Baker from Goulburn who took such magnificent photos - it will be hard to choose which to have.
Baby naming - Haynes
Laurell Christina Haynes was officially named in a simple and happy ceremony at the Crookwell Memorial Mark on Saturday November 30, 2013. Local celebrant Jan Fenton officiated the ceremony.
Laurell is the first child for Kellieanne and Zac Haynes of Crookwell. Scott and Jessica Roberts were chosen as Godparents for Laurell.
There were fifty family and friends in attendance to help celebrate the naming, including grandparents, Lorraine and Darren Haynes and Lyndal Johnson.
All the guests contributed to a ‘wishing box’ for Laurell which her parents plan to give to her on her 18th birthday.
This will be a lovely memento for her and a reminder of just how special she is.
