As a result, another meeting has been set for Sunday April 13 at "Billengin", 154 Bulleys Crossing at 4:30pm.
It is proposed that the management committee for the BBC Landcare Group be formed at this meeting.
It would also be an opportunity to determine the aims, priorities and opportunities that our Landcare Group might investigate.
Already the environmental and agricultural issue of weed management has been identified as a possible priority target.
An experienced Greening Australia senior staff member will be in attendance to brief the meeting on some of the assistance currently available for BBC Landcare Members.
Also there are possible opportunities, thanks to the initial efforts of Jerrawa Creek Landcare Group's Tussock Tamer initiative, to do some work on this weed.
Additionally, ongoing funding for other on farm works may be available from sources such as "Transgrid", "Rivers of Carbon" and "WOPR”.
Almost immediately there is an opportunity to get assistance with fox baiting.
Finally the BBCLG can apply directly for community funding.
The establishment of the BBC Landcare Group represents a significant opportunity for landholders in our area, not simply to benefit the broader local environment, but also to see benefits flow directly to your property.
