Walking through the doors the eye is drawn to the architecture of the grand old building which has been lovingly restored over the last 12 months.
Inside, the shopper can discover an array of speciality shops, showcasing some of our local businesses mixed with retailers from Lucknow, Young and Canberra.
As you walk the main street of Crookwell looking for gift inspiration for Christmas there is one shop that is advisable to visit and that is Arcadia Crookwell.
Fondly known as the Lynam’s building, the freshly renovated and newly named Arcadia Crookwell has something for everyone in store.
Owners of the building, Christine Seaman along with David and Geraldine Johnson have brought the iconic building back to life and have opened the doors again offering a multitude of businesses in the one space.
There is ‘Sally Milner Publishing’ from Binda with a range of latest releases.
‘Something Old or Antique’ with a beautiful collection of antique furniture and collectables.
‘Bush Boutique’ from Young has new season fashion, some of which has been hand made.
Marion Price from Crookwell has a great display of hand made woollen products.
The Arcadia Balinese products are something special for that hard to buy for person.
Shandara Hill has her complete range of holistic products available from her business ‘Body Balance, Wellness and Massage’ who can be found opposite Gay’s Garage in Goulburn Street.
‘Inti Selections’ are from Canberra bringing the latest Alpaca fashions with Men’s, Women’s and Children’s clothing, all from Peru.
Crookwell Rotary Club has a relaxing area with secondhand books on offer.
This central lounge area is the perfect place to sit with a coffee from one of Crookwell’s many coffee shops, relax and flick through a selected secondhand book. Bring a friend for a quiet chat. Book prices start at $2.
Trevene Mattox and friends have a preloved space with many quality gift ideas.
Andrew Warren has brought along his ‘Natural Indulgence’ range of soaps, candles and bath salts and these are another perfect gift idea for someone special at Christmas.
Susan Reynolds is also displaying her Alpaca ‘Pet Friendly’ products with a large range of products for your dog or cat. Purchase your pussy or pooch a special gift for Christmas.
‘Two Fat Ladies’ are from Lucknow near Orange and are bringing to Crookwell some very well priced gifts and clothing lines.
Helen Livingstone, owner of ‘Two Fat Ladies’ loves the fact that Crookwell is great advertising for her large shop at Lucknow and said this is a great way to expand her business without too much expense.
Bill and Kyla Ham of Wheeo have brought in their lovely range of Alpaca products.
They occupy one of the front window spaces and have a beautiful display of gifts and everyday items.
These alpaca products are international quality and Crookwell is lucky to have these available locally at small town prices.
The other front window will be changing often so there will be something different on display periodically.
Maureen Lynam will continue to bring us her well known homemade baking with Christmas puddings and cakes available just in time for Christmas. Orders are being taken now!
Local Crookwell artist Humphrey Price-Jones has adorned the four metre high walls with some of his latest art works and Sylvia Cullen is displaying some of her handmade quilts with all these being for sale.
Stellas Spa have also joined in and brought some of their products into the main shopping hub. They have a large range of products available for purchase for gift giving this festive season.
Crookwell Arcadia are only closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and you can find them on Facebook.
