This week is the annual blue ball day sponsored by O’Brien and Staines Building and Bill Searl Bricklaying. It is a four person team event played as a single stableford with each player playing alternate holes with the blue ball to register a team score.

The blue ball must be returned at the end of the day to be eligible for the team event, which proves very difficult as the majority don’t see the entire day out, either being dispatched into dams or going where the elephants go to die, never to be seen again.
Prizes are for the best team score with the blue ball, runner up team score with or without the blue ball and overall best individual score.
It is a good fun event with good prizes on offer
Last Saturday, thirty-five players enjoyed the fine weather and the golf course, with some very good scores recorded and some fairly ordinary scores returned as well.
Best score was B grade winner John O’Brien on 41 just edging out Steve Keough on 40.
A grade scores were a little lower with Tim O’Keefe winning on 35 just ahead of Lachlan Skelly on 34.
