He was recognised for his sponsorship of the ‘King of the Medals’ award for 40 years.
Les has served on the committee and as a volunteer on the course for many years and his support of the club is very much appreciated.
After the past two weekends, golf has been cancelled because of the rain and waterlogged ground conditions.
Thirty-four players teed off in the Elders-sponsored 6x6x6 challenge.
Winning the day were the team of Graham Johns, Toby Johns and Dion Aramoana with 80 points.
Tobys winning round was made all the more celebratory because of a hole in one on the long par 3, 15th.
Well done Toby, a very rare feat!
Runners-up were Ashley Gilbert, Dan Costello and Sallie Zilko via a countback on 75 points.
The best individual score was recorded by Rhys Secomb, who returned with 41 points, a great round.
This week is a four-person ambrose event, open to all players and non handicappers.
