The 2017/18 Gullen Range wind farm community fund funding round has delivered a combined $74,185.95 to six community groups.

The grants, assessed by the Gullen Range wind farm community fund a section 355 committee of Council, has been endorsed by councillors at the recent June council meeting and will help to fund the following projects:
- The Kiamma Creek Landcare Group for the replacement of stone steps at Pat Cullen Reserve, Crookwell, with a wheelchair-friendly ramp and hand rails to be installed - $16,065.95
- The Lions Club of Crookwell for contribution to the construction of a toilet block at Clifton Park, Crookwell – $10,000
- The Crookwell Progress Association who will encouraging Crookwell to say no to plastic bags by providing reusable shopping bags and undertake recycling demonstrations in Crookwell’s main street - $980
- The Grabben Gullen Hall committee to replace external cladding of the Grabben Gullen Hall – $14,140
- The Bannister Hall committee for the completion of kitchen facilities - $10,000
- The Crookwell Golf Club for provision of disabled toilet and disability access at the entry to the Crookwell Golf Club - $23,000
A total of $74,185.95 shared for community organisations.
The balance of remaining funds from the $74,332 fund will be rolled over to the 2018/19 round of grant funding.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council Mayor and Committee Member Brian McCormack OAM said the fund provides grants to projects or initiatives that benefit the community within 10km of the wind farm.
“It is wonderful to see so many local community groups benefit from this funding,” Mayor McCormack said.
The grants usually open during the early part of the year, January and February.
