On Thursday, I presented a Norman Lindsay oil painting, Woman and Satyr, to the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery on behalf of the NSW Police Force. The presentation was covered by local media and it is fair to say it has created some colourful conversations in the local community. I am not an art critic, but I don't mind it. The good news, the artwork will be on loan at the Goulburn Region Art Gallery for 12 months, so I encourage you to have a look and judge for yourself.

On Saturday I was privileged to lead the Hume LAC in remembering our fallen officers. The eighth annual ‘Wall to Wall: Ride for Remembrance’ was held. More than 1000 police officers, colleagues and friends set out from the Domain and made their way through Goulburn to the National Police Memorial in Canberra. The ride commemorates officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of community. Funds raised helps families and promotes motorcycle safety. It is a very special day for the police family. In Hume we remember Graeme Lees, Shelley Davis, Anthony Streher and Samuel Nelson. May they rest in peace.
Your police continue to do great work, responding to all manner of jobs and investigating serious crimes. We regularly seize drugs being transported along the Hume Highway and into our towns. I have always said the community are our eyes and ears, and we are only as effective as the information that comes in.
Your police cannot solve or make an impact on the ongoing drug issue within our communities without your direct help. Our LAC has drugs, like everywhere in NSW and Australia. We are not immune. So this week’s message is if you see something or know of something, report it. You can call your local police station or report via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
All information is treated with the strictest confidence, can be conveyed anonymously, and helps in our fight against drugs. My officers are more than happy to execute search warrants, pull over people and their cars and disrupt its use, manufacture and supply.
