They are the lead agency for flood, storm and tsunami in NSW.
They manage responses to these emergencies and help communities prepare through planning and education.
NSW SES volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds.
They are united by the purpose of supporting their communities in times of need.

SES have also launched new ways you can volunteer.
They understand everyone has busy lives and now they have modernised the volunteering opportunities to introduce greater flexibility and more options:
- Corporate Volunteering is a great opportunity to provide a memorable experience as an employee or for your staff.
- Community Action Teams provide smaller communities and groups with an opportunity to volunteer with the NSW SES. Find out how you can utilise your skills or local knowledge.
- Spontaneous Volunteering is all about helping your community in an emergency when it is needed the most. It is the Australian spirit to come together in times of crisis.

Upcoming unit Meetings in Crookwell will be held on – Monday 16 Oct 6:30 pm, Sunday 29 Oct 1:00 pm or Sunday 12 Nov 1:00 pm.
They will also be at the Taralga Vintage Farm Field day 18 & 19 November.
Look out for each other, we are in storm session and look out for your neighbours, friends and family;
- Work with your neighbours to identify any hazards on your properties that could cause damage in a storm, this may include overhanging trees or items that could blow around and cause damage.
- Share your survival plan with friends and family to ensure everyone is on the same page.
- Ensure you keep people's contact details handy in case you need to contact them in a storm, they may be able to help you out with something if you're not home for some reason.
