The main influx of visitors were from the ACT, due to advertising the Festival at the Canberra Home and Leisure Show only two weeks prior.
The Festival, now in its third year, has grown one-hundred percent to its inaugural year, 2015.
The Garden Lovers Market was a huge success. The committee reports that all stall holders did really well and are keen to return next year.
The range and quality of items for sale was fantastic
The garden owners put a huge effort into ensuring their gardens looked their best and are to be congratulated. Robyn McCormack did a terrific job organising the small army of volunteers who sold tickets at the market and garden gates.
They had loads of positive comments.
“Congratulations on another successful Garden Festival. The work involved in its presentation was very much appreciated by all people I spoke to” – email.
“I congratulate you on such a well organised and managed event. Our time visiting the gardens and the extra visits we made allowed for a very enjoyable day for us. All the gardens we visited were spectacular and the hosts were friendly and informative and delighted in sharing their gardens with us. The volunteers and helpers at the desks were very welcoming and cheerful. We saw many beautiful gardens also that were not on display. We had a wonderful day and we have all said that we should plan to visit the Crookwell Garden Festival another year. I can only imagine the hard work that went into this event and I can only hope that you can now rest up a little.” - Weston Creek Gardeners Club
“Thank you for a wonderful weekend. The gardens were stunning as usual,” - The Garden Party Nelligen
“Ian McFaul's garden, just out of this world. Absolutely beautiful. Visited twice. (Facebook)
“An absolutely brilliant event once again, thanks committee. You do an incredible job putting this open garden weekend on. Your attention to detail makes it work so well, and the whole town and region benefit from your hard work. Thanks to the garden owners for a beautiful and inspiring experience.” (Facebook)
“Had a wonderful day, gardens are stunning, lost count of the photos I’ve taken. Congratulations to all involved.” (Facebook)
They will be donating twenty-five percent of the ticket sales to the Crookwell Community Trust.
Fifty percent of the sales is divided between the garden owners, and twenty-five percent goes back into planning and running next year's event.
