Hotchkis, 36, has been selected to play in the Masters Over 35 hockey team at the World Cup in Spain, July this year.
He was also selected as Vice Captain.
This will be his fourth world cup, representing Australia previously in Vienna 2007, Poland 2011 and Germany 2015. Hotchkis has been repressing the ACT at national level since the age of 14.
He has played many years with the Canberra Lakers. All his club hockey has been played with Central Hockey Club in ACT.
His advice for kids wanting to play a sport is, “enjoy it and put the effort in as there are great rewards.”
Matthew is the son of Joyce and Warwick Hotchkis of the ACT.
