The funds will be donated to the McGrath Foundation and will help the foundation place breast-care nurses in communities across the nation.
Before the event, Dalton club member Neil Corby said they aimed to raise $700.
The game was part of the regular Yass District Cricket Association’s Sweeney Cup fixtures; however, Murrumbateman forfeited.
The Dingos continued with Dalton A verus Dalton B in a T20 match, instead.
Melissa Smith, one of the organisers, said the money raised was unexpected, considering the forfeit of Murrumbateman.
“It was overwhelming, considering that the other team forfeited.
“I couldn’t believe how much we raised, especially in a small community.
“The support from not just Dalton but the region – Yass, Goulburn and Gunning – as well as businesses was humbling,” she said.
The Gunning Lions Club donated a substantial amount to the cause.
The event finished at about 9pm, with Ms Smith saying “you may as well do it properly”.
“We’re hoping next year will be bigger and better,” she said.
As for the match, Dalton B secured the victory in the end.

Pools were temporarily closed
Upper Lachlan Shire Council advised the community last week that the Crookwell and Gunning Swimming Pools would be temporarily closed over the weekend.
The pool was closed at Crookwell on Saturday February 17 and at Gunning on Saturday and Sunday February 17 and 18 due to unforeseen circumstances.
Upper Lachlan Shire Council’s General Manager John Bell apologised for the closure.
“It is deeply regrettable that we have had to close the swimming pools during this peak period and Council apologises to anyone who has been inconvenienced by the closure,” Mr Bell said.
Council used the closure to carry-out routine maintenance at the pools.
