The Devils, who are coming off a bye last weekend, currently sit in second place, behind the Harden Hawkettes.
The Bears are in fourth position, but numbers two to four on the ladder are split only by points differential.
Working in the Bears’ favour is the Devils’ recent form; their last two matches have resulted in losses to the Bungendore Tigerettes, who are third, and the top-ranked Hawkettes.
However, the Bears are also recovering from a loss to the Boorowa Rovers, and a weakness that Crookwell will look to capitalise on is Canberra North’s lack of consistent scorers.
The Devils have three players (Jayde Della, Danica Langford-Lenone, and Laura Fletcher) in the top fifteen try-scorers in the competition, while the Bears only have one (Taylor Holgate, at number 11). This has resulted in the Devils significantly outscoring the Bears throughout the season, 144 points to 98.
In order to win, North Canberra will aim to shut down Crookwell’s superior offense and force the visitors to grind out a tough, uncomfortable game. The match this Saturday will take place at the Bears’ home ground, Jamison Oval, from 1.30pm.
