Going in, spectators already knew that the Stags and Marulan White were the two sides to beat, and that it would be between Crookwell Red and the Crookwell Griffins to fight it out for third and fourth position on the ladder.
Prior to the most recent round of action, each match had been decided by an average of nearly seven goals.
However, this weekend pitted the highest scoring teams (Stags, Marulan) against each other, and subsequently the lowest scorers (Reds, Griffins) would also face off to confirm the standings on the ladder.
As it happened, the Stags and Marulan enjoyed a very tight contest, which eventually fell in favour of the latter side. Many suspected that this would happen, particularly as Marulan have dominated all season and are yet to be defeated.
Similarly, the Crookwell derby was also hotly contested by both sides. It ended in a 3-3 draw, which was probably a fair result considering both sides have been mercurial and struggled with a lack of players throughout the season.
This Saturday in Crookwell will see the Crookwell Griffins take on Marulan White from 1pm, while the Stags and Crookwell Red will face off from 3pm.
