The come from behind kings did it again, Fireflys first grade men came from three goals down to equal Drifters just before full time in the 2018 grand final on September 1.

Drifters came out strongly in the first half  catching Fireflys off guard a little with two early goals by Ben Staines after some strong attacking teamwork. Flys had their chances but couldn’t penetrate the defence. Drifters were up 3 – 0 at half time.

In the second half Drifters found themselves on the defence as the Flys pushed hard to get into a scoring position. Their first goal came early in the half. Then with 13 minutes left a penalty corner went their way and the equaliser right on full time. In golden point time a down the middle run from their own half by Aaron Kershaw  to beat the keeper, slammed home the final nail. 4 – 3 to Firerflys

The women’s  first grade game was a hard fought end to end contest with Ajax and Fireflys locked one goal each at half time. With inside six minutes left Ajax scores off a penalty  corner and hung on for a 2 – 1 victory.
