Thursday 6-9-18 22 ladies enjoyed a game of bowls then adjourned to the R S L to celebrate the bowling club’s 68th birthday with a light lunch and birthday cake cut by President Janet Croker, WINNER OF THE DAY W Hewitt RUNNER UP S Reedy, SPIDER WINNER'S R Clements J OBrien J Howard.

"A single stableford was the format on Saturday which saw 26 participants, which was better than expected considering the greens had gone through renovations in the preceding two days. With a terrific score of 39 points, junior golfer Hugh Croker took out the guzzlers mug and B grade. Well done Hugh!
A grade was won by Graham Johns with 35 points and Dan Costello and Brett Turner were the runners up in A and B grade respectively. A big thanks to KD O'Brien for his sponsorship."

Sprinters 2(D Cranston 1, B McClelland 1) def North Whites 0
Both teams showing nerves from the start of play, miss trapping of the ball from both teams. Players settled and both teams started to combine and attack. North Whites having a goal go begging when a shot just missed the post. An almost identical shot a few minutes later when Sprinters also had a goal go begging missing the post by centimetres. After some good passing from Sprinters, Danielle scored to give Sprinters a 1-0 lead.
Both teams continued to attack, North Whites defence working hard to repel Sprinters shots. Goalie Lisa Breen saving many shots.
Sprinters second came after half time when Emma Sheeky sent a great pass to Brooke who made no mistake and scored. North Whites continued to try and break down Sprinters defence with Janette Naismith setting up many attacking moves, but the defence held and Sprinters won to go into the B Grade Grand Final to play Kialla.
A very even game both teams giving their best.

Golf Club 5 (N Bensley 2, S Ottaway 1, T Williams 1, N Griffin 1) def Vets 0
Golf Club on the attack early Vets taking some time to settle, Golf Club taking advantage and scoring an early goal. Vets started to combine and pressure Gold Club but their defence held. Golf Club forwards combing well, continually pressuring Vets defence. Vets goalie Carol McDonald making some great saves. Golf Clubs perseverance paying off, scoring 2 quick goals and having a 3-0 lead at half time. Vets kept trying but all efforts to penetrate Golf Clubs defence fell short. Golf Club able to score 2 more goals before full time to give them a 5-0 win. Golf Club now play Schooies in the A Grade Grand Final on Saturday.

Both teams started the game combining well, both on the attack but neither able to score. Good open hockey from both teams. Vets awarded a penalty corner great shot from Brent Smith but nicely saved by Katie Laing in the goal.
Golf Club applied pressure on Vets defence and were awarded a penalty corner. Jess Skelly’s shot deflected of a Vets stick and Golf Club score their first goal. Golf Club continued to pressure Vets defence and Bec Picker scores their second. Vets started to pass the ball around and after some good lead up work from all players, Brent Smith’s shot stopped on the line by Katie but Maree pushes the ball over the line to score for Vets. A very solid game from both teams.

A hard fought game neither giving an inch. Both teams passing the ball around to create a fast end to end game. Both teams having many opportunities to score.
