The Welch Allyn Monitor, worth over $4500, measures the bodies vitals; pulse, breathing and temperature.
Previously two of the three wards only had a monitor.
"What an asset it will be," said nurse Kathy Clements.
Patient observations can now be monitored on a single machine, saving five minutes per patient; or over an hour an a half if every bed in the ward was occupied. These observations are carried out multiple times a day.
The monitor works in tandem with software, that submits the data directly into a patient's electronic records, and is being rolled out by the Ministry of Health.
Alan McCormack and Craig Simon identified the community need and used the money from the Gunning Wind Farm's community fund.
"We identify where the best needs are met," said Mr Simon.
"It's being put to such great use," he added.
Each year Gunning Wind Farm operator, Acconia, donates $31,000 to the community. $1000 for each of the 31 turbines on Mr McCormack's property.
