“At the end of the day we still need to keep doing what we do best, whether that is the production of prime lambs or production of beef cattle or growing wool.”
The stud farm is preparing to hold its 20th annual on-property ram sale on November 5.
For sale will be 80 Poll Dorset featuring six Stud Rams and 25 White Suffolk with two Stud Rams.
“Again this year, lamb plan data will be made available to clients with the most emphasis on birth weights and post-weaning weights,” he said.
“In the past 12 months, we have had some very good feedback from producers who took the data into consideration particularly the birth weight figure. Information as such can have a significant result for clients in their breeding program.
“We are sourcing genetics from the top lambplan studs in Australia, which is Aberdeen, Valma, Lambpro, and Coledale.”
Elders of Crookwell will conduct the sale, with a five per cent commission for outside agents.
